Newswand: The 16-day long Sodasha Dina Balakanda Parayana Deeksha organised by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam for the well-being of humanity has begun at the Vasantha Mandapam on September 3.
The unique 16-letter sentence in Balakanda Parayanam is “బభౌరామఃసంప్రహృష్టఃసర్వదైవతైః “ of which the Key letter ‘Ba’ comprised of a total of 143 slokas from first and second sargas. In Balakanda there are 2232 slokas in 77 sargas. Everyday sargas equivalent to one syllable from the sloka will be recited for 16 days.
Veda pundit Maruti conducted the parayanams under the supervision of Acharya Kuppa Siva Subramanya Avadhani, principal of Dharmagiri Veda Vignana Peetham. Simultaneously another batch of 16 Veda upasakas performed Sri Sita Lakshmana Anjaneya Swami sameta Sri Ramachandra Murthy Mula mantra – Japam- Tarpana – Homa programs at the Dharmagiri.
For the benefit of Srivari devotees across the globe, the Balakanda Parayanam program is being telecast live by the SVBC channel every day from 8.30 am onwards.
