TTD to extend Garuda Varadhi up to Alipiri

Newswand: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Trust Board may take a decision in favour of extending the Garuda Varadhi (fly over) up to Alipiri to ease the traffic problems.

TTD Chairman YV Subba Reddy reiterated that the TTD Board will on Saturday decide on the issue of extension of Garuda Varadhi works up to Alipiri to resolve traffic problems in Tirupati.

Speaking to media on June 18 at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala, the TTD Chairman said he had received many representations from public representatives and other sections of the public on the need for extending the prestigious Garuda Varadhi flyover up to Alipiri tollgate. In view of above the TTD Board will deliberate on cost estimates of the extension works etc. in the board meeting scheduled on June 19.

He said the TTD could not implement the board decision to revive Kalyanamastu (free mass wedding to poor families) launched earlier by the former CM of AP Late YS Rajasekhara Reddy and also to build 500 Sri Venkateshwara temples in SC/ ST/ BC and fishermen colonies as part of Hindu dharma Pracharam due to Covid pandemic. But both programs will be revived and implemented once things turn to normalcy.

The Chairman said during the last 18 months of Covid first and second waves, TTD had launched several programs for the well-being of people. TTD launched several spiritual programs like Sundarakanda, Bhagavat Gita, Virat Parva Parayanams and various other spiritual programmes seeking Sri Venkateswara Swamy blessings to free entire humanity from the pandemic of Covid.

The board meeting on Saturday will also deliberate on providing Srivari Darshan to more devotees following Covid norms.
